Paimio Chair by Alvar Aalto
Paimio Chair by Alvar Aalto, an authentic edition, chair #41, designed in 1941 by Alvar Aalto for Artek of Finland. A tour de force in bentwood it tested the limits of plywood manufacturing in the early 1930s. Admired as much for its sculptural presence as for its comfort, the Paimio was inspired by the architect and designer Marcel Breuer’s Club Chair of 1927–28. We have provided a photo of the original label however due to age it is no longer legible. Made of birch wood.
