PIERRE JEANNERET PIGEON HOLE TEAK AND LEATHER DESK C. 1957
Pierre Jeanneret 'Pigeon Hole' also known as the PJ-BU-02-A stained teak desk with burgundy leather top. Originally this desk was produced for an administrative building in Chandigarh, India 1950s. The front side has an original six file bookcase opposite the seating side; a newly restored addition of a single deep drawer and cubbyhole.

Pierre Jeanneret (1896-1967) is recognized as a prominent figure in modernism. His collaborations with his cousin Le Corbusier are especially significant, particularly their codification of modernist architectural principles in Five Points Towards a New Architecture (1926). Towards the end of their careers the pair also designed a utopian modernist city in India – Chandigarh, and Jeanneret designed some of his most celebrated furniture designs for the administrative buildings in the city.

- Condition: Good vintage condition. Wear consistent with age with some marks and nicks to wood, and minor scuffs to leather. Original file cabinet with the remainder of the desk and leather top newly built out.
